A Zar Party....

Well Zar has always been known to throw a big birthday bash. The first year I was friends with the guy, it was at South Padre Island and in a 3 bed room condo for a weekend. The drinks were never ending, there were random hot girls everywhere and some stories that are still funny till this day! "Hey remember when Bugs was running after us and tripped and fell...and you just hear pooof in the sand where his head landed next to our feet..." HAHAHA wow total inside story that Steve and Gabriel will get a kick out of.

This weekend will not be any different, Zar's birthday party will start at Shine in McAllen, with DJ Enferno doing his thing. Then move on over to the DGE HOUSE for an after party that shouldn't even be called an "after party" because in reality its going to be a WILD PARTY!

This is what we've bought so far for the party, but I think we're going to do a few more runs to the store after work because you can never have too much. Hope to see everyone at the house on Saturday night...there is no real excuse not to come, its not like you have anything else to do at 2am!

I can't wait to have a cucumber martini and some Maker's shots with pickle juice!

Feeling Better...

So I was finally back in town and able to get some sleep. In case you did not read my last blog, I was out of town visiting my parents and ALL my Family for a mini reunion for my grandmothers funeral. It was a hard time to go through, specially since I had surgery on Wednesday for a molar extraction. I was feeling a little better earlier tonight and thought it was time to take a picture for new defaults and stuff....

after the funeral on Saturday I was able to get a picture of everyone that made it down. It was not everyone in the family but it was the biggest group of us that will ever get together again.

The Ups and Downs....

This week has been as if I have stepped into the twilight zone. I feel like so many things have not really happened. Starting on Monday with waking up to a voice mail from my mom that my grandmother had passed away. Then to some other disturbing news that I could not believe and still don't believe to this day. Then while brushing my teeth a piece of my molar came off and at first it did not really bother me. Then by the end of the day it was KILLING ME, it was hurting me so bad that I could not sleep. So I booked an appointment with an oral surgeon the next morning and he told me that the tooth had to come out. So here I am in extreme pain from my tooth, with a dentist telling me that the tooth has to come out, but that they can't do it till the next day.

Wednesday comes and I wake up early to see the oral surgeon, he removes my broken tooth that was giving me so much pain and the next thing you know I am feeling great. I spent the rest of the day at my house with Johnny, helping him with some shoots he had. I took off to The Secret Handshake show at The Incubator and Luis was super nice as always. He asked if I felt like doing some shots later on, and I thought he was kidding like the last time. I was wrong, he was serious and after the show, once everyone had left we went out to the basketball courts and I had about 15 minutes to take a few shots of him. I later found out that he really like the pictures and they might be used for promotional material for his new album that's coming out in April.

so I leave you with a few shots from the show....

HAPPY VALENTINE'S

Well Aberazzi had a very interesting Valentine's Day. In all honesty I never really go anywhere on Valentine's, the holiday in itself kind of depresses me. I have always had very bad expierences on the day and well this year was a little different. I mean some people think that working on a holiday would be boring or not fun. I am lucky enough to have a fun job and go places with a camera that most people are not allowed. So my gig for Valentine's was to cover a lingerie show that was being held at one of our "gentleman clubs" in the area. It just so happened that porn star Kenzi Marie was a guest performer that night as well.

I was intinally hired to do backstage photography with the girls getting their hair and make up done. The runway stuff was a little hard to shoot, with all the mirrors in the building, smoke from fog machines and cigarettes and of course I couldn't really get in the way of the people. So I stuck to the behind the scenes stuff mostly.

I have a ton of other pictures from the night but I am running late to a shoot I have at Cine El Rey for a concert. I still need to post a blog with a gallery to the Gary Allen concert from last weekend as well. So check back this week, as the blog will be having tons of updates!

HOW WAS YOUR VALENTINE'S DAY?!?

Using my Christmas present...

I think I told everyone already that one of my really good friends was nice enough to give me a grid, for my ring flash, for Christmas. I was so excited to use it, but really haven't had the chance to do so. So the other day when Johnny was over doing a shoot, I set up my lights the way I wanted and tried it out. I have to say that I'm glad I was able to try it before doing a shoot. I learned that using it on the camera how I had imagined wasn't the greatest idea and using it as a back light made it kind of awesome. I figured since I haven't been posting much these past two months I'd show you.

Hope everyone has a great Valentine's weekend. I'll be out working on Saturday at Stiletto's for a lingerie show. Then on Sunday I will be at Cine El Rey for a nice romantic event.

here's a shot of Johnny I did...

Donald Glaude

Wow, so I'm a little late with this post. I meant to have it up as soon as I could, sadly I was not able to do that. The past few days have been nothing short of interesting. Friday was a hectic day with running around Harlingen and having a few things taken care of over there. Then I made it just in time to Art Walk to sell some of my prints, which was really hard with all the wind. After the Art Walk I rushed over to Element for Energetik's party. They had Donald Glaude spinning and that was an amazing time! The next morning I woke up to have another busy day, but with a shocking surprise. I had this horrible burning feeling on my arm, so I went to the restroom and washed up. Next thing you know there's a blister where it had been red and burning. So then I did a little home remedy and the blister became huge! I of course thought the worse and figured I was bitten by a Brown Recluse. I didn't have time to go to the Dr. on Saturday and just stuck it out, with taking Benadryl and it knocked me out! So while at a shoot for Gary Allen, I started to get a little drousy and had to miss Jon Not John's birthday party. Sorry to Jon and to all of those expecting me there to take pictures.

Light My Fire...

Art Walk is tomorrow and I am really excited. I will actually be at the art walk selling prints at the Monikapolitan table in front of Roosevelt's. I have had a few pictures from over the years that I've liked and everyone has always asked for me to print and sell. Well this week I've done a very limited print run of only (2)5x7's of each and once those are gone, that is it! So if there's a picture you've liked in the past from even back when I was just Abe Robledo, it might be for sell this week.

While looking at old work, I also wanted to create something new to sell for the Art Walk. So I thought since Valentines was coming up this concept of a matchstick couple would be perfect. I've had the idea for sometime, and have been wanting to create this diptych forever but I just never really had gotten around to doing it. I hope everyone likes it as much as I do. I was actually really sad, because it took me forever to build these little people and then it only took about 3 seconds for them to go up in flames. Oh, and to my roommates that probably woke up at 3:30am from the smoke detectors going off in the house, I'm sorry!

A Boy's Weekend....

Wow, I don't know what to say about this weekend. It is a rare occasion when all the girlfriends for my guy friends go out of town. So when this weekend came and all the girls were gone, the boys went out to play. I think that's pretty much all I can say without giving away all our secrets. I will admit though, it was probably one of the longest and craziest weekends I have had in awhile.

I managed to sneak away from the guys for a little bit while we were downtown to see my friend Rebecca. She was having her birthday party at Skky Bar and since I had my camera with me, I figured that I would snap a few shots for her to remember the night.

The month of February is going to be a little crazy with photo shoots. I have already booked close to around 8 shoots and sure there will be more to come. Be sure to contact me soon if you plan to do a Valentines shoot this season.

here are some shots from Rebecca's party...
