Flying to Vegas...

I know, I know, I haven't posted the NeverSayNever blog and for good reason. I have all the pictures ready to put up but I haven't had a chance to actually upload them to my web server. I really wanted to post one last night but the wifi here at the hotel is very slow and kept timing out. So in till I can find a better connection I am going to have to hold off on doing the blog for NeverSayNever.

As some may know I am in Vegas for the week and taking a break from work and Texas. I did however take a shot on the insane plane ride. I say insane because the wind was so bad in Vegas last night that we kept going up and down and side to side. The wind was so bad that we ended up having to make two fly overs and ended up being 30 minutes late. Once we did land the people on the plane started to clap and I was there laughing. I have always found close to death experiences as being funny, I think its just how I deal with things.

Spring Break Pt. 2

So after the fun weekend of pre-partying, the real partying began. Monday was extremely busy with LMFAO getting into town and DJ Skeet Skeet coming to town as well. I went with Zar to get our friend Trevor (DJ Skeet Skeet) at the airport in Brownsville. On the way back we decided to take him to our favorite resturant on the Island, Dirty Al's. After an amazing dinner, we headed over to Mooncussers for Trevor's performance. The crowd was great, I met some even more amazing people while taking pictures there, some that stuck out were from Arkansas. Once Trevor finished playing and the club was closing we decided to throw an after party at the beach house. It was probably one of the craziest parties of the week on the entire island!

Tuesday morning came a little too soon and it was a hard day. I needed to drive to McAllen and pick up my friend Myca at the airport, she was flying in from Dallas for the NeverSayNever Festival. Then I had to drive back to the island for LMFAO's performance at Mooncussers.

Start of Spring Break....

So I've been gone a long time, or so it feels like I have at least. I left off to the island with Zar and Doug for all our work we had to do. It ended up becoming one of the craziest weeks I have had in a LONG TIME. The weekend started with a "Global Groove Welcome Party" at Club Pelican West. The crowd was good and there was a good vibe going, but being the first night at the island we decided to head to Padre Rock. Well I am pretty sure I can say that it was a bad idea. The crowd was not really out type, nor was the music. I think the icing on the cake to keep us from going back to that club again was when Rishi, Doug and I were maced outside of the club.

Sunday night was interesting, we all headed up to Louie's Backyard for Global Groove's Party. It was some good times there. I met some cool kids from Kansas that seemed to love Nikon cameras. I think I met a girl from Austin that night that was a G0-Go Dancer at a club.

Here's a small gallery from the two nights....

New Bands On The Rise...

It seems that every day you hear of a new band that is up and on the rise. Well maybe not for all of you, but for me it does. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I live with two of the most amazing concert promoters. I don't really have to talk Zar and Geo up since they're mini celebrities down here but I figure for all those readers I have everywhere else I'd let you know how awesome they are. I am sure if you went far enough back you'll remember me posting a blog about The NeverSayNever Festival. Well its just around the corner and I am getting extremely nervous about it. Zar and Geo have put in more hours into this festival than I have seen anyone put into anything. I seriously think its going to be ridiculously awesome...but hey that's just me. I hope that I see everyone out at NeverSayNever...

If you don't know who is playing, here's a flyer...
just click on it so that you can see it bigger.

As for the new bands on the rise...
I had the pleasure of doing promos for
a band called The Critically Acclaimed
these guys are a bunch of fun and they're
going to be playing at The NeverSayNever Festival.

I got to shoot The Bullfighter this week too.
They're brothers, Rudy and Xavi and really cool.
They're recording right now and getting ready for
their band to play their upcoming shows here in McAllen
first AMF in April and then with Bayside in May at the Incubator.

DJ SKEET SKEET....

Friday night was pretty much one of the best nights ever. I could not stop dancing all night long, it was such a great time! If you didn't make it out, Skeet will be DJing at Mooncussers on the 16th so be there!

Here are all the crazy pictures....

Testing...testing...

So the other day I saw a time lapse video and it inspired me. I have always loved to watch time lapse videos, something about them just seems to be so beautiful. Well after doing a little reading I found out that I could make one too. So this morning I woke up extremely early and decided to go out on top of the roof and do one. It did not really come out the way I wanted but its still kind of cool. I am sure that I will be doing a lot more of these in the near future....

so I leave you with a good morning video...

Zar's After Party...

Well Saturday night was Zar's birthday bash. The party started at Shine with DJ Enferno but I had to work at Cine El Rey for an event. I really wish I could of made it out, I've been hearing stories and I am sure that there would of been some good times. I did however make it to the after party that we had for Zar at our house. I can't really explain it but let's just say you missed out on one crazy party that lasted from 2am - 7am....

BUT HEY....If you did miss this one and are thinking, "why oh why did I have to miss this party", its going to be okay. We're having another one this Friday after DJ Skeet Skeet!

A Birthday at Mooncussers...

Friday night was eventful, driving out to South Padre Island with the guys. There was only one real reason for us going and that was to attend our friend Jessica's birthday party. It just so happened to be the soft opening of Mooncussers, that cool place on the bay with all the red lights. The place looked good and the music was bumping, there were even a few Spring Breakers already down. This is the club that you will most likely be finding me during the month of March taking pictures. To see the pictures from the night just click on the picture below.
